Welcome to the Irish Residential Boat Owners Association, IRBOA
Houseboat communities are made up of a diverse group of people from young families and working professionals to senior citizens, many of whom have lived on their boats for decades. They bring vibrancy and community to our Inland Waterways.
History
IRBOA was originally set up in 2010 by a group of like minded Traditional Houseboat Dwellers who wished to have an association that would represent them. Now, in 2023, the association is again active, with new and old member’s coming together to represent Liveaboards and Houseboat communities in Ireland.
Our Mission
There has been a lack in representation for Houseboat communities in Ireland. IRBOA’s main object is to represent these communities and campaign for their interests. We aim to promote and inform Politicians, the public and other interested groups about the wonderful Houseboat communities.
