Offaly County Council Rejects Proposed Canal Bylaws Revision

A great start to the campaign, but other county councils should follow suit. A midlands local authority has rejected proposed revisions to the canal bylaws.

Waterways Ireland has presented its suggestions to Minister for Heritage, Darragh O’Brien, which Offaly County Council disagrees with.

The proposed revisions include in-water inspections and insurance for boats, an annual registration process and speed limits for bicycles and scooters on the Greenways and Blueways.
